Nominoichi

Nominoichi

Nominoichi will be at N2U 2011 again this year making it more exciting then ever! On Saturday afternoon, for a 3 hours only, there will be a different kind of dealer’s room at N2U 2012. Tables will be set up and you can be the seller!

It is a chance for you, the regular anime fans, to buy and sell stuff to each other.

The Nominoichi will be held on T.B.A 2012, in the Greenery room (Panel/Events Room) at Travelodge on Carling Ave.
The Nominoichi will start at 3:00pm and finish at about 6:00pm.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Lets be clear: The Nominoichi is for the sale of licensed anime merchandise of all types only. Both new and used items of anime merchandise are acceptable. The Nominoichi is not a part of the artist alley or dealers’ room, and the artist alley or dealers’ room is not a part of the Nominoichi. Therefore, homemade arts and crafts are not suitable for the Nominoichi. We also allow Japanese Manga and Doujinshi. These are not technically licensed, but we will allow them. However if you want to sell anything else, and it is NOT a licensed anime product, you must email me and let us know what it is to get approval.

Q: So is it all anime stuff?
A: Yeah, Anime stuff can be a bit hard to define, but our common sense will apply. If someone is selling something non-anime we will ask them to remove it. If you want to sell something and are unsure if it is “anime enough” please ask first.

Q: So what will not be there?
A: Bootlegs and Fansubs. Don’t even try. Same for weapons or props with a metal blade. Convention rules still apply.

Q: So how much stuff will be there?
A: We have no idea, that all depends on what people bring and how many people bring stuff. We have 30 tables for this year.

Q: How much will the stuff cost?
A: Again, that is up to the sellers to decide, it is their stuff to sell. However if you’re nice, and willing to deal, perhaps you can get a bargain.

SELLERS INFORMATION

So do you want to get in on this action? Of course you do. Here is the information, what we have this far is:

#1) You must reserve a table.
We will be sorting all table requests by time received and is first come first served. After the 30 tables are gone we will be making a standby list.

#2) If you want to sell at the nominoichi, you should email [email protected] and reserve a space by November 15th 2011,
Your Subject line for this email must be:

“NOMINOICHI TABLE RESERVATION”

In the body of the email we need to know your first and your last name. Your full name. That’s all.

Space is limited and when all the tables are taken a small stand-by list is made.

#3) You will be instructed where to wait with your stuff, once the room is ready you will be called in (2:00PM in front of Greenery). If you are not right there, ready with your stuff, when your name is called then you get bumped! Someone from the standby list will take your place.

#4) At the Nominoichi sellers will pay a fee of $20.00 for your table before you get your table.

#5) At about 3:00pm the doors will open to the public, so be ready. At about 6:00pm the room will close, and you have until 7:00pm to clean up and get out.

GROUP REGISTRATION:

Short Answer = YES.
We don’t really care if two, or ten, or more, of you want to group together and share a table. Please don’t tell me the names of all the members of your group. What we want is only one person to become the”group contact.” This one person should be able to follow all the rules and should be the only person to request a table from your group. The group contact will be the only person from your group we will deal with directly.

Sellers FAQ

Q: How big are the tables?
A: Minimum six feet long by three feet wide. (6′ x 3′)

Q: How many chairs do we get?
A: 2 per table.

Q: If I am part of a group of sellers do we each pay $15?
A: No. The fee is $20.00 per table. Not per seller.

Q: Can I request more then one table?
A: No.

Q: But what if I am group contact for, like, 30 people?
A: No

Q: I really wanted an artist alley table, but I did not get one this year, can I sell my homemade arts and crafts at the Nominoichi?
A: No you may not.

Q. Can I sell 18+ items?
A: Yes you can HOWEVER you are to make sure that all items are presented in a PG way. YOU must also ID anyone buying 18+ items to make sure they are 18+.

Remember:
Do plan on doing it by yourself or with your friends, do not ask our staff to help you bring your stuff in, set it up, or take it down.

Do bring all that you need, do not ask me, or the person next you, for some extra tape or markers to make price tags or signs (you really should have all that done before you get in the room.)

Do bring lots of change and small bills. Do not ask me, or the person next you, for help to break a $20.

Do have an exit plan. Do not ask me, or the person next to you, to watch your stuff if you go the washroom.

Do keep an eye on your stuff. Do not expect security to protect it for you.

Finally, try to keep things priced at whole dollars. Forget the $1.50 make it $1 or $2. (That one’s not a rule exactly, but it is some good advice.)
